We recently visited Madison rooftop restaurant in London for brunch to celebrate my life long friends special birthday. I won’t tag her in or mention her age or the friendship might come to an abrupt end. It’s was such a cool vibe here with a DJ playing Ibiza tunes and the drinks were flowing. We’ve been here before for dinner on a Sunday and it was equally as good. There’s always a band or entertainment which I love. It makes me want to resume my days as a singer. Did I mention I was a singer before I had my girls?!
There’s a great atmosphere, the food is on point and the views are spectacular. It overlooks St Paul’s cathedral so its great for a photo opportunity. If you go in summer don’t wear too many clothes, it gets hot up there.
We had the best weekend celebrating Neil’s birthday at the Bell in Ticehurst. A cosy 16th century hotel with quirky boutique style bedrooms individually decorated.
Beautiful food, wine and cocktails. Everyone was so friendly and brought their dogs along which is great if like me you are deprived of having a dog. Just saying!
Oh yeah and don’t wear 7 inch heels when you go either.
We had an impromptu visit to the Potting Shed, Langley and I thought I’d share this recommendation with you. We go here at lot but last week the sun was shining, the garden was buzzing and the music was so great we ended up staying for dinner. Their woodfire pizzas and cocktails are excellent and there’s lots to choose from. It’s part of the Elite pub chain so if you are a local you will know their pub / restaurants well. The food was lovely but the highlight for me was the chocolate brownie, amaretti and cherry ice cream. If you go order it and thank me later!
Had such a lovely date day with my wonderful husband at Boisdale in Belgravia London. If you love a roast dinner, lovely wine and live dinner jazz I’d highly recommend. Everything was delightful but the food highlight was most definitely the sticky toffee pudding.
We recently had a lovely family dinner at Posillipo Italian restaurant in Faversham, Kent. Traditional Neapolitan cuisine with a modern twist prepared using only the finest ingredients.
The food was divine and it was so hard to decide what to have from the menu as everything is so delicious. Above are a few of the dishes we had. For starter we ordered the Frittura Di Pesce – seafood sharing platter, mussels and the antipasto All’Italiana. All our girls love to have a porn star martini when we go out and they were on point here.
For main courses we had pizzas, tagliatelle, risotto alla pescatora and the gnocchi zucca which is gnocchi with king prawns in a creamy brandy sauce on a bed of rocket and cherry tomato.
If you go you must try the sparkling red wine which I know may sound a bit unusual but once you try it you will love it.
Such a cosy, relaxed family restaurant we’re already thinking about what we’re having next time we go!
We rented a beautiful Edwardian villa above Porthminster beach, St Ives for a much needed family staycation. Recommended in the Telegraph as Cornwall’s best holiday home and we couldn’t agree more. It’s even owned by someone famous.
Everything about it was stunning especially the breath taking view. We had such a lovely time and of course the food was amazing even though I didn’t get to photograph much of it. You can’t come to Cornwall and not partake in a Cornish pasty or Cornish ice cream. I’ll be eating a sprig of cress for the foreseeable! Hope you enjoy a few snap shots I’ve included and if you get the chance to go I couldn’t recommend it any higher. If only we had a time machine to whizz ourselves there to spare us the 6 hour drive!
Had such a lovely day having brunch and shopping with my girls in London. Most definitely the prettiest brunch we’ve ever had. We arrived at Peggy Porschens, Chelsea for their Autumn display and it was the cutest. We love cake and flowers so this was our idea of heaven.
The cakes are so pretty and delightful in fact everything is pretty and delightful. We had mini croque monsieurs, coronation chicken sandwich’s and a selection of beautiful melt in the mouth cakes.
Here are a few of the cakes we sampled:
Lemon, raspberry and rose with meringue buttercream, crystallised rose petals, fresh raspberry and edible petal confetti.
Jammie Dodger cupcake with pure vanilla frosting, a fresh raspberry and a mini jammy dodger.
Spiced pumpkin cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting, pink sugar pumpkins, pumpkin seeds and sugar pearls.
I’d definitely recommend a visit in fact I can’t stop thinking about going back.
I had such a lovely Birthday meal with my family at Alto by San Carlo. Dior’s take over of the Selfridges London roof top restaurant until end of September which is inspired by the French Riviera. Neil proposed to me on the French Riviera so I knew I was going to love it in an instant.
Oh wow, we had such lovely food, wine and cocktails. I’ve shared a few of the delights with you here.
We had langoustine risotto, burrata with parma ham and truffle, calamari fritti with a tarragon mayo, truffle and pecorino ravioli, calabrese pizza and the most delightful Bellinis. The desserts were heavenly.
If you’re in London I would highly recommend a visit. It’s worth going for the tiramisu alone!
Neil is amazing at booking our holidays but he really excelled himself with this one. We can honestly say out of all the beautiful places we have visited, it’s the best place we have ever been to.
If like us you like amazing food and wine, cocktails, good tunes, sunny weather and beautiful scenery then Santorini is perfect.
The Katikies hotel is a stunning hotel which has won many awards for being one of the luxury hotels of the world described as a luxury Eden in Oia to escape in a romance seclusion.
The staff literally treated us like royalty. We weren’t allowed to pour our own water or adjust our own sun-beds. I’m usually uncomfortable with this as I’m more than happy to do this myself but they were so kind and helpful and really loved helping us. The Greek people are so lovely.
Everything about the hotel is first class from the rooms, the service, the breathtaking location, to the DJ mixing the most amazing tunes but especially the food and drink.
Here are some pictures of the breakfasts and lunches we enjoyed. Unfortunately, I couldn’t capture any evening food as it was too dark to get a good photo but trust me when I say it excelled. If you stay you must visit the Mikrasia restaurant in the hotel. It is another level. Neil had wagyu beef, Aegina pistachio ganache, slow cooked glazed onion in broth, eggplant plum purée with cumin and Barolo wine sauce and I had stuffed rooster fillet, stuffed celery root with slow cooked rooster leg, flamed celery root cream, Santorini grapes and poultry sauce with spices. It was utterly divine. The desserts were like nothing we have ever tasted.
The hotel has it’s own sushi Chef and it was out of this world. Every lunch got better and better. The coconut daiquiris and rosé wine were heavenly.
We visited the sister hotel Katikies Kirini for dinner too and this was also stunning with impeccable personable service.
Katikies you exceeded all our expectations and made our honeymoon perfect.
As we are all food lovers here I thought you’d appreciate me sharing a post about some of the beautiful food we had at our wedding.
This is a little shot or two of the food that we sampled for our wedding breakfast @eastwellmanor. I didn’t take photo’s of it on the actual day as I was enjoying the moment.
To start we had caramelised onion tart with goats cheese served on a bed of rocket and balsamic. It was delicate, light, fluffy and bursting with flavour.
This was followed by pan fried duck breast, sweet potato fondant, seasonal vegetables, red currant and lime jus. The only word for this was wow. We tried roast chicken too but were absolutely blown away by the delicious flavours bringing this dish together and had to choose it.
For dessert we had the most beautiful caramelised orange tart with raspberry cream. The pictures and words do not do it justice as it was another level. Sweet, tart, creamy and everything you could wish for in a dessert and more. It was presented perfectly.
A beautiful selection of wines complimented the meal. This was finished off with coffee and petit fours.
Everything from the canapés to the evening buffet right round to breakfast the next morning was utterly delicious and plentiful.
This is obviously not an ad just a glowing thank you to all the team @eastwellmanor for making our wedding so special and perfect. I arrived with my mum and bridesmaids the night before the wedding and the food and service were exemplary, so friendly and personable. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were always so kind and checking on us.
We had the perfect day. Thank you to each and every member of the team at Eastwell for making our wedding so magical.
We can’t wait to return to celebrate special moments for years to come.
